| Changes under way at Tabula Rasa, Cameron Art Museum Amanda Greene December 22. 2005 Star-News tabula rasa REINVENTs He fought digital photography. And digital photography won. Matt Dols, director of Tabula Rasa, the area’s only nonprofit darkroom, is closing the photography part of his artistic entrepreneurial efforts at the end of January. The costs of maintaining the darkroom didn’t equal the major interest in digital photography, Dols said. But that doesn’t mean the end of Tabula Rasa. It’s just a rebirth of T.R. as a nonprofit umbrella organization for the PEDestrian Art Project (installing sculptures downtown) and CreativeWilmington.com. Dols said he still wants to teach private digital or film photography lessons, and intends to devote more time to his own artwork. And if you want some darkroom materials, he’s selling it all in January.
